James Chaney serves as a portfolio manager and analyst and is responsible for the Japanese and Scandinavian markets. Jim began his career in 1985 as Vice President of International Equities at General Electric Investments. In 1991 he joined Templeton Investment Counsel and became an Executive Vice President, managing $5.2 billion in international equity assets. In 1996 he joined Hansberger Global Investors and, until joining Mercator in 2000, was Chief Investment Officer. Jim received his MBA from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, a MS from Northeastern University, and a BS from the University of Massachusetts. He is a member of the CFA Institute and a member of the Investment Adviser Association and the CFA Society of South Florida.
