Peter Spano is a founder of Mercator and a generalist on the team. He began his career in 1968 as an officer and portfolio manager with The Chase Manhattan Bank, and then Flagship National Bank of Miami (now SunTrust). For several years, Pete was Director of Investments for American Birthright Trust, an investment adviser to mutual funds. Prior to Mercator, he served as Vice President and Chairman of the Portfolio Management Committee at Templeton Investment Counsel. Pete received his MBA from Baruch College (City University of New York) and his BBA from St. John’s University. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the Investment Adviser Association and the CFA Society of South Florida.
